Sources

How we source this website

This is an independent guide, so the value of every page depends on the quality of the source behind it. We publish what official Maharashtra government material states, and we record where each statement came from.

Source priority

  1. Government of Maharashtra — official state government publications and portals.
  2. Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Department — the department responsible for the platform and its notifications.
  3. Official MahaSarathi portal — the live portal where citizens actually register, sign in and access their profile.
  4. Official Citizen User Manual — the published manual describing the documented citizen journey, including the profile area and card download.
  5. Government gazette notifications and departmental circulars — for formal changes such as the basis and scope of Aadhaar authentication.

Third-party news coverage is used only to notice that something may have changed. It never replaces an official source, and we do not repeat a news claim as fact until official material supports it.

Where the source for a specific page is shown

Sources are recorded per page rather than only in one central list, because different pages rest on different documents. On each guide you will find a source and verification box naming the organisation, the specific official page or document, a link where one is available, the date the source was checked and the date it was last verified. If that box shows that a page still needs review, treat its details as provisional and confirm them on the official portal.

Official destinations

Every real action — registration, sign-in, Aadhaar authentication, OTP entry and card download — happens on the official portal, never here. The official links we use across the site are listed below.

Each link opens the official government portal through a short outbound notice, so you always know when you are leaving this independent website.
