About the Maharashtra MahaSarathi Maha ID

People commonly search for a “Maha ID Card.” The current Citizen User Manual uses the label MahaSarathi Card for the card available after login under Profile > Quick Actions. This guide keeps both search terms visible while preserving the official label.

This is an independent information website. It does not create Maha IDs, accept applications, collect Aadhaar or OTP data, or represent the Government of Maharashtra. Process details are published only when a page-level source record shows what was checked and when.

How to register for Maha ID

Maha ID registration is free and is completed on the official MahaSarathi portal. You can begin with your Aadhaar Number or a Virtual ID (VID). With your consent, the portal runs Aadhaar eKYC and sends a one-time password (OTP) to the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar so it can verify you.

If you prefer not to use Aadhaar, a Ration Card based registration route is also available. Once your details are verified you create a User ID and a password, which you will use to sign in later. If you would rather get help in person, a Maha e-Seva Kendra / Aaple Sarkar Seva (Suvidha / Setu) centre can assist you.

Family ID and DigiLocker

The MahaSarathi Family ID is integrated with DigiLocker, the Government of India document wallet. Using DigiLocker you can fetch an existing Family ID credential, or enrol a new one after giving your consent.

A credential kept in DigiLocker is legally valid as per the Government of India, so it can be used in place of the original document.
