Editorial Policy
Who publishes this website
This is an independent information website about the Maharashtra MahaSarathi Maha ID and Maha ID Card. It is not operated by, affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by the Government of Maharashtra or any government department. We explain official processes in plain English; we do not deliver them.
Official sources come first
Every factual statement about a process, requirement or feature is based on official material, in this order of priority:
- Official Government of Maharashtra sources.
- The department responsible for the platform (Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence).
- The official MahaSarathi portal itself.
- The official Citizen User Manual published for the portal.
- Government gazette notifications and departmental circulars.
News reports and third-party blogs are used only for background context. A third-party article never overrides an official government source. Where official material is silent on a detail, we say so instead of filling the gap with an assumption.
How we verify a page before publishing
- Each claim is checked against the current official source, and that source is recorded on the page.
- Screens, button labels and field names are described as they appear in official documentation, not invented.
- Anything we cannot confirm is either left out or clearly marked as not confirmed by the official source.
- Pages that are still under review are kept out of search results until the review is finished.
Human authorship
Pages are written and reviewed by people. This website does not auto-generate content, does not mass-produce keyword variations of the same page, and does not publish machine-written text as if it were verified guidance.
Dates you can rely on
Guides show a published date and, where relevant, an updated date and the date the supporting source was last checked. Government processes change, so a date is part of the information: if a page has not been rechecked recently, treat its specifics as provisional and confirm them on the official portal.
What we will never publish
- Fabricated government announcements, deadlines, fees or scheme names.
- Claims of official status, affiliation or authorisation that we do not have.
- Fake login screens, fake application forms or downloadable documents that imitate a government identity document.
- Requests for your Aadhaar number, one-time password (OTP), passwords or payment details.
Advertising and independence
This site may display third-party advertising to cover running costs. Advertising never influences what we publish, and adverts are kept visually separate from guidance and from links to official portals.
